Top 'thought' An Andrew Cross Award for excellence in religious broadcasting was awarded to GRF at the annual conference of the Churches' Advisory Council for Local Broadcasting held in Derbyshire in June 2002. The award was in the 'Thought for the Day' category. GRF also received a Commendation in the 'Special Programmes' category. The competition attracted over 120 entries across 10 categories. GRF's award-winning programme is a set of 40-second 'spots' produced for Radio Clyde. Transmitted in early 2001, the spots used anniversaries of events to apply a Christian critique to today's society. The programme which was commended re-told the Christmas story in the style of a film trailer set within a mock version of Film 2001 as presented by Jonathan Ross. It was transmitted on a number of stations throughout Britain but the award was for the broadcast on Millennium FM in London. The Andrew Cross Awards exist to:
